The Coyote’s ears are proportionately large in relation
to his head while his feet are small in relation to the
rest of his body. Coyotes who dwell in the mountains
tend to have dark fur while coyotes who live in the
desert tend to be more yellowish in color. Coyotes
normally grow to 30–34 inches in height and on average,
weigh from 15–46 lbs. The largest Northern coyotes on
record weigh almost 75 lbs. and measure over five feet
in total length.
The Native Americans
see the coyote as the great one and the foolish one.
Some believe the coyote is a trickster.
